This week we travel to Las Vegas for the AWS Reinvent conference. We are looking forward to conversations around the challenges enterprises face with rapid changes in the data space. Enterprises are trying to keep up in our everything-on-demand world while the variety and velocity of data increases. If that was not enough of a challenge there seems to be an exciting innovation in the data management layer almost every month. There is now an amazing array of new technologies. How does a large enterprise absorb all this change with minimal risk and disruption?
We’ve got some exciting and thought-provoking material that we’ll be releasing this week based on some research we recently completed in partnership with Gigaom that starts to address this. But more on that later…
In the meantime, here’s the thought we want to plant in your head:
BIG DATA ON DEMAND
What exactly does that mean?
It’s a concept that may be both natural and foreign at the same time. Today most big data infrastructure is custom-built using lots of different tools that don’t work well together. Big data on demand means getting the same output, but with something that’s so simple it’s like plugging an electrical cord into a wall.
If you’re going to be at AWS Reinvent, be sure to swing by booth #1035 and let’s strike up a conversation!
